And It’ll work.
This is the country that voted against having more holidays.
Weak arguments like this are the best argument for the initiative.
Old swiss Bünzli won’t profit from this, so no chance.
I don‘t see this as one of the two initiatives voted on the 30th Nov?
Is this cantonal only?
Jeez, i’m against minimum wage but these are weak ass arguments.
We have min wage in Geneva. Could be a starting point to see wether it is worth it or not
Those six reasons are the ones why i vote with yes.
1. Nope not a lot will happen, besides the manager probably having a smaller margin.
2. Yeah right, “Fachkräftemangel” *wink wink*.
3. Not really an attack, and it is time to adjust the wages to the market.
4. Nope probably the opposite.
5. It strengthens it.
6. Again… not really, it has the opportunity to strengthen it due to happier workers. And it might smaller the heavily obscene amount managers get down to only an obscene amount.
The real reason is that they would have to pay more if it gets trough. Of course they don’t want that.
This will not pass in Switzerland long after it becomes the norm across europe. Too many workaholics that think they levitate above the population. Unless its 4pm Friday, suddenly everyone leaves the office apart from the underlings, how odd. 🙂
*Every single one* of these points is a flat-out lie. Insane.
(The second point could be argued, but it’s unclear how that is even a negative.)
For number 5: Yes it weakens the current status quo because the employers hold all the power. Afterwards less negotiating is needed, which is good.
