Sanitary engineers will be saddened to learn that “fatbergs” will be consigned to a footnote in the history books and wet wipes flushed from existence. Now they need to tackle the silly people who flush baby nappies down the loo!

>Businesses like hotels will be allowed to buy the wipes, without restrictions.
So again business lobbying gets them exemptions from laws.

Flushable wet wipes aren’t actually flushable. My mate works unclogging drains and talks to a lot of people who thought they were flushable because it says so on the packaging, but they just don’t fall apart fast enough to stop the clog.

Absolutely not I worked for a big company that is making these “plastic free biodegradable/compostable” wet wipes.
They do not biodegrade as you might think. They need industrial composting requirements with 50c+ temperatures for a long time they will take months if not years to biodegrade in a sewerage pipe. Do not flush wet wipes and always second guess moronic marketing claims from big brand companies.

You just need basic toilet paper and moisturiser. Only reason for wet wipes is cleaning babies on the move.
