Can confirm. Just tried to log into my work’s database and… down.

    2. GreenEyeOfADemon on

Yep, I can confirm. Although I could reach some websites with Mozilla but not with Chrome, don’t know why.

Hey I have a radical idea: let’s depend less on the internet

DPD website down, can’t track my parcels. Looks like CloudFlare is the failing point

wait what parts stopped working exactly or is this just a clickbait title because i havent noticed anything broken on my end

    6. hamstar_potato on

Yes. No lesson learned, though. Let’s create a site and app for everything, then pray they won’t be down because everything is digital and reliant on some monopoly service for easy monitoring and worse security.

In Spain this happens any time LaLiga games are on. They lobbied the government to pass a law blocking cloudflare because some of the illegal streams were using it…

Bunch of my apps broken currently in HU EU, cloudfare seems to be common thread

Cloudflare is down and they have the audacity to blame the user.

We need a more decentralized infrastructure. Bigger companies owning so much power over the internet are a vulnerability to the whole system.

So aws and cloudflare had some major outages so far in the last 2 months. What other cdn has never experienced such down times yet?

    12. Think_Front5244 on

Stupid title. A widely used service is down, not the internet

Perhaps putting all of our digital eggs into one cloud basket was not a good idea

Couldn’t use Claude, I genuinely thought it was my WiFi, switched it off to use data, still fucked. Went to check twitter to see if others were having issues , that was down too. Tried Reddit and this post was the first I saw.

Genuinely concerned with how vulnerable the internet is to these widespread outages which affect multiple platforms at once

Have they tried unplugging it and waiting 5 seconds and start it again? 🤔

    16. Maleficent_Sense_948 on

      Get used to it.

As our information infrastructure is consolidated more and more, this will become the norm.

Thanks ok it can stay that way I would like to have my life back

I love that almost everyone still calls Twitter Twitter, and just ignores Musk’s juvenile attempt at rebranding.

Jesus that website is riddled with popups, video overlays and other garbage. Wish I just had the text

Cloud dependence networks are a bad idea and only appears great in the moment.

The fact that websites in Europe still use CloudFare is absolutely outrageous!

My friend asked if Pornhub was working. I checked. It’s working

Thank god they’re firing people everywhere, what could be the possible downside ? 🤣

    24. This morning I tried to book ticket to the cinema but the website was down.
Then I went onto steam and saw I could voted for game of the year. Click on the link and brought me to the website.
Had to log in, tried using twitch but that was down.
Use twitter but I forgot my password so I hop onto twitter to reset my password but that is also down.
Waited for half hour then I press refresh and twitter was working again, change password and log into the game award website and voted for silksong for game of the year then website crash.
Then I went for a walk in the park, interesting morning it was.

    25. If someone takes down both Cloudflare and AWS, that’s like the end of western internet.

And honestly I don’t know if I’d be opposed to that at this point. We gotta go back, back before capitalism got its hands on it.

Remember when people used to just make cool websites and post videos for fun and share music and pictures of titties at 500kb/s and stuff on this exciting platform that’s available anywhere?
