Suspects shouldn’t be named in public until convicted – any of them. There’s too much damage done to **innocent** people’s lives by having them named in the press as accused of an offence before they’re convicted. They’re innocent until convicted, and even more innocent when acquitted, and so should not be named until convicted.

But we already know nowadays. If it is a “white man” it will be all over the news instantaneously. If there is no such description, the only doubt is if the suspect is Black or South Asian.

Good. I want details of shoe size and the last thing they bough it Waitrose. Oh and which version of “She Bangs The Drums” they prefer.

I guess innocent until proven guilty doesn’t really matter any more

No data should be released until Proven guilty – however a description should be given – colour and features

Why are we pandering to racist nutters and bots on Facebook? Given the state of msm recently I really feel we should be doing the opposite rather than giving the rags more opportunity to report selectively and use real peoples horrible experiences as hate fodder, no?

Alternatively just slap those spreading the misinformation….much more effective by hitting the source.

It is so depressing that the police are having to do this and possibly jeopardise investigations because people can’t just be patient. After the recent train attack, someone was arrested by mistake and then released, but imagine if their photo and name had been plastered all over the Internet. It would’ve ruined their life because people love to fill the vacuum of no information with rumour.

So keen to pander to conspiracy theorists about information being suppressed that they’ve let the racists win. Weak.

The UK really does feel like a divided shit hole. I might just leave to be honest. This country just feels like a sinking ship.
