And just today in Ternopil, only 100km from EU border, Russians send ballistic missiles to target civilian high rise buildings. At least 25 Ukrainians have been killed, including children.

Honestly, out of any nation of immigrant, Ukrainians are my favourite.

They do thier work, are not a bother, good manners and easy to get on with.

They also go to a bigger effort to learn local customs than most.

It’s just my anecdotal experience… maybe I’m lucky, but they’re a sound group.

    >Ukrainians who fled war remain in Ireland

    The war remains in Ukraine.

I work with a Ukranian lady who is a really lovely person. Like all nations there are good and bad people.

I was reading that 1 in every 10 person now living in Kerry is Ukranian, crazy how many hotel rooms are in that one county.

Hardly surprising – the Russians have intensified the bombardment, and are making it uninhabitable – targeting residential buildings, essential infrastructure like power and water.

Oh look, a post trying to instigate hate on Ukrainians.

And why not? The war is still going on, and more civilians are dying.

    >“The number of casualties for the first ten months of 2025 (12,062) has already exceeded the total for all of 2024 (9,112)”, said the report by the United Nations Monitoring Mission in Ukraine

Yeah of course they are, there’s a war still going on.
Many of them come from a part of Ukraine that is temporarily Russian and they can’t go back.

The article is a shit stirrer

I’m glad we have the privilege to keep these people safe from Russian terrorist attacks.

I’ve yet to meet a Ukrainian that moved here that I could take issue with. Lovely people.

Somewhat amusingly, my father in law has 2 Ukrainians living with him under the ARP scheme and he is so difficult to deal with that they are returning to Ukraine this month.

They can stay with us forever and become our brothers and sisters for all I care.

Russia literally shelled civilian apartments today. So it’s not exactly calmed down.

  16. Demonbaby_Wot on

Why not call the ‘war’ a special military operation while your at it and go full russian shill shite-talk.

What’s their status? Are they working? Are they integrating into society, learning the language, paying taxes? If yes, good, keep them.

Some of my neighbours are Ukranians who fled the war. Really sound people, had some converstaions about whats going on over there and the stories are wild. Truly wild shit. It really saddens me seeing so much anti immigration bollox going on, regardless of context. Truly good peope coming here and working away contributing.

3 are in my house and they’re welcome to stay as long as they like.

I hope I keep getting the gov payments because there’s no chance of them being able to earn any income to cover any of the bills.

But if the payments stop, they can still stay with me, just in a much colder version of our house 🙈

The Irish Times know what they are doing…. The are only encouraging our beloved patriots to cause more unrest towards the Ukrainians. They already believe the war isn’t happening.
