There is an easier way to sort this out, get rid of Morgan.

What a tit. The Labour Party is now internally fighting itself and as a Labour voter last time it’s pathetic

If he’s that keen to quit as MP he should do it today rather than waiting about!

    4. denyer-no1-fan on

Yeah as if the Starmer controlled NEC will allow Andy Burnham to be the candidate anyway. Starmer’d be signing his own death warrant.

    5. OkAsparagus839 on

With party members like Lewis Labour don’t need an opposition.

It’s a nice gesture, but more a symbolic show of support than a genuine offer. Burnham would need, and want, a Manchester seat that is largely guaranteed to win in a by-election.

    7. Turbo_Baggins on

The Labour leaders would just make it an all women short-list to scupper any argument around whether Burnham should be allowed to stand there

KS is a dead man walking. His MPs are not even trying to hide the scheming against him. Even Boris showed superficial support for May in the public.

Clive clearly was missing the media attention so off he goes “offering” his seat to Burnham. Its a non starter but it gets him in the media for a bit and that’s all that matters. It also helps polish his credentials with the Burnham camp and that might help him later on.

Starmer and his band of principle lacking empty suits, and advisors need to go. Sooner the better so Labour have some time to recover.

Andy Burnham was only reelected Mayor of Manchester last year, I think it would be pretty crappy of him to swan off to the other side of the country just because a bigger job might be in the offing. Hardly shows integrity to the voters, does it? I’m sure he’s very aware of that.

Couldn’t even keep up a pretence at unity for more than a year. Disgrace.

      Burnham is no panacea.

    13. Starmer unelectable and always has been. He won by default as many disgusted with Tories and did not think Reform / Green alternatives could win.

    14. BenButton123 on

Ah yes, because people love MPs being parachuted into seats they have no connection to. Would be a great way for Burnham to start his bid to become PM.

Good. Starmer has zero chance. Usually against this type of behaviour, however, Keir is horrific in front of a camera, he’s lucky Conservatives have an equally terrible ‘leader’ in Kemi otherwise PMQS would be horrific for him.

Keir’s being of his reign with that speech about ‘dark days ahead’ was woeful mistake, then again with the welfare bill that was due to hit the disabled, disgustingly.

Burnham is a far better ‘on camera’ type of leader that is frankly needed, now more than ever in these days in which Farage has the right wing media on his side and desperate to make him be PM.

Starmer doesn’t feel like a Labour PM to me. He’s allowing the right to dominate him whilst throwing two fingers up at his base and voters all the time. So bluntly, he really has to go otherwise Farage will win 2029.

Utterly pathetic and stupid. Give up your seat for someone 150 miles away. Sure the locals will be pleased

Party hasn’t been in power for nearly 2 decades and they can’t help but try and ruin it

    17. Strict_Counter_8974 on

All of this because he wants more people to come to the UK who actively hate our way of life

    18. Hanamafana on

Seriously, what is he going to offer that will change much?

    19. Chargerado on

It’s disgusting that people are even talking about replacing the pm. We voted for him with a massive majority, he should not be removed. It undermines democracy itself.
