As per rule, I think this fits the sub because I’m getting bombarded with this nonsensical ad on youtube and I think fellow sufferers are only from Switzerland.

no they used the zebra that they hold in the wingo office

Maybe also a very bad automatic translation track, as these are normally in Swiss German…

Looks more like CGI with a real filmed face put on top. I think AI would do a better job of the walking/riding animation but the color change stuff seems much easier to achieve with CGI than with AI.
That being said it’s always possible that AI was used to polish things at the end.

No it’s not, that ad is quite old. Is just bad made

Even if it isn’t AI, it’s still terrible. The average dude uploading AI stuff on pixiv can do better, and it’s not even a high bar.

Holy crap, thank god I have an ad blocker…

Ads have always been on the forefront of abusing things to make it cheaper and cheaper for them. So wouldn’t be surprising.
But also don’t underestimate shitty CGI

It looks outsourced and AI-ed… I get the impression that these were actors filmed in Nigeria (which has an enormous movie industry) for a lot less money and then edited / slapped together in AI…

Nah they actually borrowed that zebra from Züri Zoo. That‘s also the guy‘s real voice.

It’s perfect for the Tik-Tok generation who can’t process a chain of information that is longer than 2 seconds anyway :p
But jokes aside:
Wingo Ads always have two purposes:
1. Attract young customers who’d go with an inexpensive Non-Swisscom provider otherwise
2. Discourage every not very young person (who already is with Swisscom) to switch from Swisscom to Wingo
The 2nd purpose is probably more important than the 1st, because of course everybody who switches from Standard-Swisscom to get the same thing for half the price at Wingo-Swisscom is a big loss for them because the margins are certainly much higher with Standard-Swisscom.
It’s no conicidence that on the frontpage of the Wingo website you’ll see 8 pictures of a black guy and 0 pictures of a non-black person, whereas on the frontpage of the Swisscom website you’ll currently see 16 pictures of white persons and 0 pictures of black persons.
This has been going on for years. When Wingo was new, the frontpage of their website showed a young dude in underwear, holding a bottle of alcohol, riding a stuffed elk… full-screen. No information. You had to scroll down to find actual offers and prices. Again: no coincidence. The message was clear: all non-young people, please close this crazy page immediately, we don’t want you to buy the same stuff you’re already buying from us for half the price.

Google/YT now auto translates ads depending on your language preference and it’s fucking horrible. I don’t think you can turn it off. As for the video itself, I don’t think it’s ai generated
