Here’s the plan: Russia get the fuck out of Ukraine.

    3. Every day that passes, this idiot seems more unbearable to me.

    4. Europe’s very final chance to make its first bold move since the war began.

Interesting how Ukraine has 24 hours but Russia had multiple 30 days

What an awesome plan. russians paying nothing, all sanctions are lifted, USA is going to dump trillions into their economics, russian troops without a single shot advancing hundreds kilometres deeper in our territory, Ukraine prohibited from having long range weapons and should decimate its army. And all of that in exchange on what exactly? On piece of paper with some empty promises like budapest?

Tell him to stick it up his ass. Don’t let those who died or lost their homes be in vain. We far from ready for war but Europe won’t capitulate to Putin

There’s a really good chance Russia uses any peace treaty to legitimize their control of of the land they seized and then immediately go back to making war against Ukrainians. You can’t really negotiate with Russia at this time, given what they’re doing, since they have proven to be untrustworthy. It’s such a huge waste of time by Trump. And for what? Oil?
He will want gas gas prices to come down so that doesn’t do too badly in midterms, but then he is effectively exchanging a very significant chunk of European land (and empowering a enemy/rival) for success in a minor election. Very misguided.

Watching a US president tell an allied country to surrender, just so he can ‘claim a win’ and distract people from his various shitshows…

      >to end its nearly four-year old war with Russia by Thanksgiving, giving Kyiv less than a week to decide whether to agree to a draft plan that would make major concessions to Russia.

Sure, sounds like enough time for Zelenskyy to find himself fucked over not once, but twice.

      >“We’re in it for one thing. We want the killing to stop.”

*Riiight,* like anyone sane thinks the US actually gives a damn over the suffering of the Ukrainian people. No one likes war as a solution, but essentially this war showed one country *literally* wiped its butt with the Briand-Kellogg pact of 1928 which iterated the idea of making war *a last resort* when it comes to diplomatic relations.

      >Trump suggested he may extend the deadline “if things are working well.”

Translation: If Zelenskyy capitulates like a good man. /s

      >Trump also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin would “be stopped” and “is not looking for more war.” Putin, Trump added, is “taking punishment.”

*Oh, really?* All the loopholes in the “peace plan” literally give free hands for Russia to try again.

      >Putin said at a meeting with his security council on Friday that he believed the U.S. plan could serve as the basis for a peace settlement.

Of course the man believes that, Russia gets a slap on the wrist while Ukraine gets fucked. That’s not *peace.*

Zelensky acknowledged Friday the challenges facing his country. “Now is one of the most difficult moments in our history,” he said in a video address. “Now Ukraine may find itself facing a very difficult choice. Either loss of dignity, or the risk of losing a key partner.”

      >The renewed U.S. pressure on Zelensky comes as he is facing down political tensions at home and fresh setbacks on the battlefield. A corruption investigation is focusing on members of his cabinet and other political allies.

Fuck people who profit from wars, *regardless on what side they are.* How much of a coward can you be to sap the country from the inside, playing right into the enemy’s hands.

      >Russian forces continue to advance in eastern Ukraine, while Moscow’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy systems have left much of the country with electricity for only a few hours a day.

      Russkies pressure militarily…

      >The Trump administration has plenty of levers it could pull to increase pressure on Zelensky to try to coax him into agreeing to the deal, such as cutting off intelligence assistance or provision of weapons.

      …while the Murricans manipulate.

      >On Friday, Zelensky held a call with the leaders of France, the U.K. and Germany to discuss peace proposals. He said that he spoke for an hour with Vice President JD Vance and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll about the American proposal to end the war, and also had discussions with Mark Rutte, the secretary-general of NATO, as well as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa.

      >“I will present arguments, I will convince, I will offer alternatives, but we will definitely not give the enemy a reason to say that Ukraine does not want peace,” he said in the video address. “We are counting on European friends who understand that Russia is not far away, that it is near the borders of the EU, that Ukraine is now the only shield separating comfortable European life from Putin’s plans.”

*Ukraine is now the only shield separating comfortable European life from Putin’s plans.*

Slava Ukraini. All these soldiers took so many bullets for us all for four long years now. 😔 🇺🇦

      >Zelensky’s address reflected the pressure he now faces as he is squeezed between Trump, who wants a peace deal; Russia, which wants to take control of Ukraine; *and Ukrainians, who are willing to fight on despite daunting odds.*

Brave! Brave men and women. Brave AF. Their dignity puts us all to shame.

      >A draft of the Trump administration’s 28-point plan posted online, which the White House confirmed was authentic, calls for Ukraine to cede some territory now under its control to Moscow and accept Russia’s de facto control of other parts of Ukraine where the front line would be frozen.

      >Ukraine’s military would be capped at 600,000 personnel and its goal of joining the North Atlantic Treaty would be foreclosed. In addition to provisions aimed at halting the fighting, the proposal calls for Kyiv to agree to hold elections in 100 days.

      >The proposals seek to address many of Putin’s longstanding demands for ending the war. Many points—like Kyiv’s withdrawal from land its forces control—are at odds with longstanding Ukrainian positions.

      >In addition to the 28-point plan, a separate U.S. document lays out **security guarantees White House officials are prepared to offer Ukraine in case Russia renews the war, including “intelligence and logistical assistance” or “other steps judged appropriate” after consultations with allies.** It doesn’t commit the U.S. to provide direct military assistance, a copy of the document reviewed by The Wall Street Journal shows. The guarantees would last 10 years and could be extended.

Nah, I’m not trusting that garbage at all. *Nope.* Those guarantees are shallow as hell, they might *look* like Article 5 similar guarantees, but they *aren’t.*

      >Public opinion in Ukraine has remained firmly opposed to territorial concessions throughout the war. An October survey by the Kyiv International Institute for Sociology found that 71% of Ukrainians opposed transferring territory Ukraine currently controls to Russia.

Again, putting us all to fucking shame in matters of dignity.
