I’m absolutely certain that the Tories are just licking their wounds at the moment and will come back quite strong comes the next election. Not that I like it, but they survived for ages and have the means to weather the storm. If we do get Reform next, I’m almost certain we’ll get the Tories afterwards (unless they merge!)

Call me when we’re still seeing these sort of numbers a few weeks before the election. 4 years away it doesnt say much.

Tufton St has completely destroyed the party. It made them drink the kool-aid of thinking the red wall will vote for them forever. They only cared about one thing, Brexit. Now they’re trying to win them over with insane Reform policies that is alienating their base.

To get back to where they were they need to combat the Lib-Dems on local issues, state the benefits of small government and low regulation. Be progressive on green issues, farming, etc and be pro business. Currently they’re doing none of these things.

Get rid of Badenoch too she’s useless PMQs proves that. Get Cleverly to be the only candidate so the party members can’t screw the pooch again and vote in Robert Jenrick

Watch them still end up in government when Reform can’t form a majority on their own

The problem the Tories have now is that literally any time they suggest something they would do it’s an easy response to say “you had 14 years, why didn’t you do it?”

Give it a couple more years and that might wear off a little to the point where they can “recover” to 100-150 seats

I’m not British but I lived there for a long while. It’s myopic to assume that this poll isn’t going to replicate in 3 years. Look around Europe and you see once dominant parties in the single digits. The Tories picked up some anti Brexit voters, who were always probably temporary, but the boris wave killer them with that new constituency and the old core voters.  In fact core voters barely exist anymore.
