It’s going to be an interesting Pikachu face moment when India turns these technologies against Western interests.

So while the US is punishing Russias trade partners, France is rewarding them with new military deals. Also, India doesn’t even have a military alliance with its decades long friend Russia, in what world would the Indians suddenly sign one with France?

India is no threat in the long run for Europe despite the ludicrous statements I’m reading around here. The country is surrounded by ennemies (Pakistan) or rivals in waiting (China). The legacy of colonization is a matter for the anglosphere and especially the UK to deal with, and the EU does not have to consider itslef glued to this past.
Indians, as are most of the Southern emerging powers, are realists, with multivectorial policy. India’s vital interest is to hold steady on the northern border, and to ensure control of the Indian Ocean – especially as the US is not getting more and more erratic.
Which is precisely a proposal that would suit France and Europe very much as they do not have the maritime depth required to handle this role.
The two countries have been working silently (sometimes in conjuction with gulf states also) in minilateralism works for some years, and there is a long history of french and indian military collaboration.
To build a framework of solidarity and stability against the revisionism of China Russia and the US needs initiatives such as this one. The EU will also need to draw Indonesia closer, as well as Brazil.
Paramount will be the need for these relationship to foster democratic values in both directions.

Looking at everything that happened recently, the EU’s only reasonable direction is to make closer ties with India and LatAm, while being indifferent to the US vs. China standoff.

Honestly , expected, but still good news generally.
France and India are playing a long game for extending military and economical cooperation. Even back before when the main cooperation was the 1998 agreement the growing closeness in ties between them was used for arguments for France to pivot from Africa to Asia – I remember reading publications with those when searching back to early-2010s articles before the Mali insurgency got France to put more resources in the Sahel.
