If you don’t have fees supporting the fees that process the fees, how are you even in business?

If people didn’t pay their ridiculous prices, they’d be forced to cut them

Gotta be grateful to them. It’s why I’ve stopped eating takeaways and am cooking a lot more. Haven’t had a take-away in a year, when I was previously once or twice a week

Fuck that, lob some fries in the air fryer and fry a steak for yourself it will taste better and be better for you and your wallet.

Have relatives who own a small takeaway. Only one of the couple works. New cars. Multiple lavish foreign holidays per year. Kids dripping in every brand name you can imagine with every Apple device going. Including the 3 year old! Rolling in dough. Prices in this country are up for many reasons but greed is definitely one

And my salary has gone down since then 🤮😬

Used to get dominos pizza as a treat. It’s now €16 for large pizza. I just make pizza or buy a frozen pizza. Although frozen pizza is also crazy expensive

I remember in the early 90s, my parents sent me to the chipper every Tuesday for four fresh cod and four chips, and I’d get change from a tenner.

Going from paying 12.10 to 24.12 would kill a man.
Also, this is for scientific purposes – no way in hell am I buying this shite for that price.

Half you problem is using justeat, I decided to order from the local pizza place last week. I usually ring and collect for the deal it’s 20 euro that way.

I used justeat 3 euro delivery 3 euro to just eat 1 euro on service charge and for some reason they charge an extra euro for the same deal on justeat.

Came to 28 euro after that, normally 20 euro.

2022 I used to pay €11.80 for a meal deal. That same meal deal is now €19 (pizza, side, drink). Have not bought it since.

I keep track of pint prices, there’s places in Dublin that were charging 4.80 in 2019 and are now above 7 euro.

I remember dominoes had the meal deal for one and it was a small pizza, garlic bread or wedges, and a can of coke for a tenner including delivery

    Now it’s €22.75

In 20 years we’ll look back on fast food and highly processed foods the same way we look at smoking today. So the higher prices are saving us in one way, we’ll eat less of this crap. The soft drinks are now filled with artificial sweeteners (which ironically might turn out to be worse than the sugar they replaced), there’s dextrose and other crap added to the chips and god knows what they’re doing with the Kebabs.

people paying 6 quid for delivery probably arent that freaked out by price

We used to get takeaway once a week. Got an airfryer, and I’d say we get a takeaway once every couple of months now, max.

The price > quality ratio just went too far. It’s one thing paying ridiculous money, it’s another thing when it’s pure muck. Last few times we got chipper food, the chips were raw in the middle.

The airfryer has paid for itself 10 times over.

Remember when a dish and rice in the Chinese was like €7? 😭

Min wage per hour in 2015 was €8.65. It is now €12.70. 46% increase. Future prices are only going one direction ie UP!

Would’ve saved yourself at least 6 euro (25%!) if you went and collected it yourself. It’s not as if the Square is difficult to get to even without a car

Got and Indian for myself and the misses last night. 2 meals, 2 naan bread and 2 sides…€63!

Having 5 children and living in the shticks killed takeaways for us. Haven’t looked back since.
