Ho appena comprato un appartamento, di cosa si tratta esattamente?
Non è la scatola dell’interruttore. Quello è da qualche altra parte, anche se la rientranza nel muro ha la stessa forma. Non sono sicuro di cosa fare con questo.

The black thing on top is the termination point for network (Ethernet) cables; you must have 5 or so RJ45 jacks on some walls somewhere.
The silver thing is a splitter for coax cables (used for cable TV or internet via cable TV).

this is basically the “breaker box” for your cable TV. It’s getting split and distributed to all the other rooms in your apartment.

Top left with the orange cables is a patch panel. From there the cables shoild go to other rooms and outlets there. You can connect each port to a switch, thus providing lan connections to your rooms.

lower half: TV splitter, so you get cable TV in each room.
upper left: network patch panel, looking extremely shoddy (shielding just left there, mesh wire not properly wrapped around). You can think of it as a bunch of unconnected ethernet cables, probably going to some ethernet wall socket into each room. You’re supposed to connect all these to a router (or a switch connected to your router) so you have a connection in every room.
