If a hotel room is advertised as “from £22”, then as far as I’m concerned, as long as I can reasonably easily book that specific room on the specific dates it’s £22 and pay them just £22, then the advert was reasonable.

If they said “from £22”, but I had to go through all 365 days of the year and every possible room type at every hotel to figure out which one exactly cost £22, that isn’t reasonable.

The ASA’s argument is that a significant proportion of dates and rooms should be available at the £22 price for the ad to be allowable. I disagree – that would be the case if the ad said “typical price: £22” – but that isn’t what it said.

Consumers understand “From” to mean “that’s the cheapest one”, not “that’s what most cost, but some will be cheaper”
