Una bella strada a quattro corsie a Dilbeek che collega Bruxelles con Ninove. In passato si poteva viaggiare alla comoda velocità di 90 km/h con auto che gestivano solo la metà rispetto ai modelli di oggi. Il limite di velocità è stato abbassato a 70 km/h circa dieci anni fa e andava benissimo. Successivamente è stato implementato con un sistema di controllo della sezione/trajectcontrole e non ho avuto problemi neanche con quello. Imposta il cruise control su 70 e guida.
Per anni non ho visto incidenti degni di nota in questa località. Presumo che tutti abbiano rispettato il limite abbastanza bene e forse anche un po’ troppo perché recentemente la velocità è stata nuovamente ridotta a 50 km/h.
Qualcuno può aiutarmi a capire lo scopo di questo cambiamento, oltre a supportare ulteriormente il modello di entrate di cui Glenn Janssens sembra apprezzare?

In Dendermonde I saw them placing a flitspaal. I thought, well, it’s a 70 and you shouldn’t be going any faster because it’s 300m before it turns in to a 50 zone. That’s actually a good place to put a flitspaal.
Then on the day they activated it, was the same day they placed the 50 sign to right before the flitspaal. Literally the same fucking day!
Safety my ass. It’s just to generate money.

Niet dat ik je niet volg maar er zijn ook aanbevelingen:
Aanbevelingen voor veiligheid: Hoewel het wettelijk is toegestaan, pleiten organisaties zoals de Fietsersbond en experts op het gebied van verkeersveiligheid ervoor om op wegen zonder fysieke scheiding de maximumsnelheid te verlagen naar 30 km/u, tenzij de infrastructuur is aangepast. Het Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer hanteert ook het principe dat 50 km/u wenselijk is op wegen met een aanliggend fietspad, en 30 km/u zonder.
