If this was any other point in history, including this millennium, people would understand that the justice of peace follows the sword. To get a better deal you need to get land back and that means taking the strategic initiative.
poland has been pretty consistent on this position from the start so not really surprising they would push back against any rushed compromise
If we give Russia Ukrainian land it would say to the world that illegal invasions are okay and set a template for others to do the same.
