*”To be free in this world, we must be feared. To be feared, we must be powerful”*

Auditioning for his next role: Europe’s first Defence Minister. If we don’t go for power, others will. They mistook kindness for weakness.

*In the past, to some derision, he’s called for a “true European army” even before the existential danger Vladimir Putin posed to the continent become self-evident.*

In some ways that dude was right.

It is high time for the Europeanized NATO to stand for itself, going Big on Logistics, Enablers, Intelligence, also more fluidity in cross borders opearations.(It is Mad that when Belgium needed to send Military armored vehicles to Romania 2 years ago they were drastically slowed down by very heavy bureaucracy, it took them 21 days for their Armored vehicles to reach Romania seen in PBS documentary)

Europeans are not ready for a surprise attack at all.

Also homegrown Europeans alternatives to Patriot with the missiles going with it.Boost air defense and Sead.

      Produce many, many more ammunitions.

      Increasing the manpower.

Nato should become a two pillar organization. Both the American and European pillar would be able to operate together, but also independently if needed.

Our destiny is certainly western (I hope) but our geopolitical interests don’t always necessarily align.

Macron predicted NATO being brain dead because they wanted better relations with Russia. France was wholly willing to sell Russia advanced navy ships even after Russias first invasion of Ukraine in 2014.

Macron should stop preaching to the world and start fixing France. Streets are burning with frustration, the economy is crumbling, and citizens are fed up with empty promises. Global lectures are worthless when your own country is falling apart. If he cannot lead at home, he has no business lecturing anyone abroad.

He likes to hear himself talk. But the actions fall short.

“We stand with Ukraine and will take full responsibility to ensure peace and security in Europe. This is the fundamental interest of France and I am its guarantor,” Macron said.

He might still be proven right. What’s clear is that if everyone had acted as if he was right, we would probably be better off today.

Macron is really eager to enter a war. If he wants it so much, France can do it themselves.

      > Emmanuel Macron has a penchant for predicting the end of eras

He failed to even predict **his**, but sure.

Three/four years ago, I don’t really know anymore, Macron said: Global warming? Who could have predicted it? This guy is a calamity and under his mandate, thanks to his political strategies, the far right has only grown.

I mean, he’s pretty much spot on about NATO. It is dead. There is no point for it now that the US has turned its back on it. In the recent Ukrainian capitulation proposal one of the articles literally says that the US will arbitrate between Russia and NATO as though they’re not in NATO anymore. Europe needs to wake up and smell the realism. They can never depend on the US for their security guarantees again, and should construct a robust European defence pillar completely independent of the US.

So far, all G-* are whatever the US wants them to be
