which just means that the data they’re getting is worth these fines.

Starting to look like this is just the cost of doing business for Google when really they should just close the tax loopholes.

Lmao this is more than 5% of The EUs budget? Is this how we will survive the economic downturn?

kinda feel like EU’s just using Google as their piggy bank atm.

      Not nearly enough.

If we take the case of Meta, as it was revealed two weeks ago:

      > [Reuters – Meta is earning a fortune on a deluge of fraudulent ads, documents show
      (2025-11-06)](https://www.reuters.com/investigations/meta-is-earning-fortune-deluge-fraudulent-ads-documents-show-2025-11-06/)
      >
      > Meta has internally acknowledged that regulatory fines for scam ads are certain, and anticipates penalties of up to $1 billion, according to one internal document.
      >
      > But those fines would be much smaller than Meta’s revenue from scam ads, a separate document from November 2024 states. Every six months, Meta earns $3.5 billion from just the portion of scam ads that “present higher legal risk,” the document says, such as those falsely claiming to represent a consumer brand or public figure or demonstrating other signs of deceit. That figure almost certainly exceeds “the cost of any regulatory settlement involving scam ads.”

I doubt Google is faring any better.

Is Google actually paying these fines, or are they just stacking them up and never paying, while the EU does nothing about it?

In my opinion they should sue Google for not doing enough against botting on their platforms. All social media platforms should be sued, but Google is especially qualified to combat this due to their search engine and AI business.

I love how in America everyone gets money when a company violates their rights or poisons them via class action. In Europe this money vanishes somewhere and we get jack shit.

    9. its not google that pays for the fines its their customers, they just charge more so they can cover the fines 🤣

Can we have the same chart but with the amounts that have been PAID by Google ?

EU main income will become fines against US tech in the future.

That’s most likely pocket change for them. It’s probably less than they make in a single week

These fines are becoming just a different name for extra taxation.
They make much more then the fines costs, so it’s a solid business model to continue for them and their shareholders.

    14. One Truthsocial post from ‘Daddy’ of EU and everything goes under the rug.

    15. I think that it is a paradox that at the same time, citizens are literally forced to rely on their smartphones (which in reality means Google of Apple, you can choose one) by their governments.
