When you break that down it’s only €45 per bloke per day

Unfurnished, so not intended as a house share.
Intended for a couple or family.

Meaning they expect each parent to spend €2000 a month each in rent

Completely overpriced but at least it’s s decent house. Inchicore house prices have gone insane. They seem to be speeding running gentrification there

No worries. For council housing like that it would be 500/month (or less?).

So it all in perfect balance!

Where the fuck did they be going with their stupid introductions?

‘We are here by delighted to cordially and officially announce the intention of availability for tenantuary congress, this hiese, upon the Suir Road…’

And it’s just a private landlord as well. Could you imagine ads for secondhand cars like that? For 2008 Yaris.

Damn! I live in a bigger house in a nicer area and my mortgage is 2.5 times less than this 😳

What has always bothered me with rents is there is seemingly no connection between property values and rents. Rent shouldn’t be paying off ownership of a bloody house within a 5-10 year period.

  8. My 3 bed, 2.5 bathroom house in Swords is way less than that and we signed the lease this summer.

Ha. I’d say it’s an ice box. Plenty of junkies around Inchicore for the privelage. Some one will pay it.

I’m sorry but we need rent caps.

    This is ridiculous.

For those who say they stifle supply – that’s only true if they are too low.

There is zero reason not to legislate to stop this price gouging.

How ironic – €4000 would have probably bought that house 50 years ago !

Viewed this house when it was up for sale in 2023. A queue of FTBs (ourselves included) there and it sold for around €550,000 if I remember correctly. Mortgage would’ve been about €2500 a month. House was retrofitted too at the time, so whoever bought it didn’t have to put any work into.

    Market forces at work eh?

  14. Two-tone builder-grade cabinets, a yellow accent chimney, *and* a mirrored wardrobe? I’d say it’s a hell of a bargain at that price! And unfurnished, so there’s plenty of room for all the bunk beds the renter will no doubt be filling it with to turn a profit.
