I did not know that you would need the sticker if your car is foreign as well. However I suggest that you call a local dealer or shop along the way that you can get into. They can give you a sticker if you give them the papers of your car. If you want to save time you can email your papers before maybe. You may not be the first to ask that if the dealer is along the autobahn from Italy or Austria to Munich. The price is usually around 5€.

Imagine every country in the eu would have that sticker. Then your windshield would be full of stickers and vignettes, too….

5 hours saved sounds like it’s too much. Can you share screenshots?

I honestly doubt that you can save 5 hours by driving into Munich unless there is a total blockage of the Autobahn.

In any case, ask for the Umweltplakette at gas stations close to the border. Bring your car registration papers.

The 5 hour saving is BS however as long as you don’t get pulled over by the police for some random check nobody cares about the sticker. They will not pull you over just because of the missing sticker.

The sticker is usually only controlled by Ordnungsamt, which is only responsible for parked cars. So no worries
