The war will begin and it’s good to have this in place.
“security experts who warned the law could lead to mass surveillance of European citizens”
Did everyone forget that Snowden showed the world that this was already happening over a decade ago? Imagine where US surveillance tech is today. Online privacy is an illusion.
The whole thing is being framed as a noble push to “protect children!!!!” against dumb citizens who hate it, and not a single word about how said “protection” in fact enables a total privacy breach and creates a surveillance state.
Maybe… Maybe will be more useful if eu regulate social medias….
Thing is of all possibilities, the “to protect childrens” will be the less effective.
Guarantee, predators will find a way throw. Foreigner disruptive agents too.
But if you want to know how sheep,.. ordinary population organize themself, to manifest for example, to take popular actions, to spread some informations, that, that the perfect tool.
I’ve asked on another post if we, as citizens, can use a Class Action against this. Apparently, not.

Still, there must be something we can do. Can we, as citizens, support Tuta Mail in their lawsuit?

I can’t see how this won’t backfire.
At least Americans get to be rich in exchange for the erosion of their privacy and rights.
I cannot write how much i hate these politicians, and i hope for alot more anti EU sentiment
Fuck it at this point I say let politicians touch the stove. When this gets outside of the eurobubble they will see a massive popularity drop and people who are actually against it will replace it and we won’t have to waste time and energy fighting it for at least a decade.
Seems like scanning part is voluntary?
> The compromise that countries finally agreed to leaves scanning as a voluntary measure.
But I haven’t seen the text and I’m not a legal expert so I’m not sure if it’s voluntary or “voluntary”.
What’s next?
The largest collection and distribution of child images is going to come as a result of the mass surveillance this will enable. I guarantee it.
Fucking deviants now just need to work their way into an intelligence community role. Then the rest becomes an inevitability.
Likely the billionaire class is missing their buddy jeffrey so now they’re lobbying states to collect their fix.
