The closest thing to Zelenskyy / Servant of the People and the United States would be if Julia Louis-Dreyfus from Veep ended up running for President at some point. She hasn’t run for anything, of course, but boy would that be humorous.

NOT same question being asked (nothing to do with popularity) but I always found it weird that the Rock tried to do a tv show about himself running for president of the United states. It was too obvious.

al franken would probably be an equivalent – stephen smith’s also considering running for president in the 2028 election, so we might get a zelenskyy-type president by 2029?

I Guess maybe the obvious answer is Ronald Reagan, but I think that may stretch the meaning of the term ‘Popular’ Since he wasn’t exactly an A-list Star/talent.

This is something I’d ask a Ukrainian for their perspective on rather than an American. As an American I can admit my world view is small. I didn’t know who Zelenskyy was prior to the war. Hell, I still don’t know anything about his politics other than he’s a badass wartime president. Trump and Raegan were TV personalities before they were politicians but I don’t know how comparable they are. I’m pretty sure 99% of Americans don’t know enough about Ukrainian politics or Zelenskyy pre politics to answer this.

Outside of Al Franken, Sonny Bono was a mayor and congressman.

Waiting for the ronald raegan stuff to come up. He may have set in motion the slippery slope to contemporary American conservatism but there’s no denying his legacy in ending the cold war
