To me it is all the way round, when I discovered a very popular faction were called the Ultramarines I could help to “hehe” a bit

So, fun fact.
Ultramarinos, ultra = from beyond, marino = maritime. It means products that come from the other side of the sea. Originally it was imported coffee, spices, whatever. Over time it came to mean any shop that sells a variety of every day products, like salt, sugar, pasta, whatever.
That term ultramarine was also used for Ultramarine Blue, the most expensive pigment for renaissance painters, because it also came from the other side of the sea.
When warhammer invented the space marines, they also made the joke with Ultra Marines and their blue color.
