Volunteers were working in a building on 15 Kvitnia Street in Ternopil.

Pierre is from Colombia. He is a veteran of the Foreign Legion. During one of the peacekeeping missions, he lost his leg. Despite this, he came to Ternopil to help people who lost their homes as a result of the Russian attack on November 19.

“When I learned from the news that such a tragedy happened in Ternopil, that many people had died, I told my friends. From the first day, we wanted to come here to help save people and their homes. Everyone had their own commitments, but we are very glad to be here. We admire the courage of Ukrainians and are always ready to help.”

Among the volunteers helping clean the apartments affected by the Russian attack is a young woman named Luna.

She carried bags of debris and loaded them onto a tractor.

“I came from Colombia. I am very happy that I can help Ukraine, and especially Ternopil, which is part of Ukraine and is fighting for its independence. I am honored to be here in Ukraine.”
