Where Romania and where Russia geographically speaking…

    2. PlasticComb7287 on

Between Russia and Romania, besides Ukraine, there’s also the Republic of Moldova. What does the source say about the occupation of the Baltic states, which, geographically, are located right next to Russia?

    3. uberusepicus on

There are permanent NATO troops present in Romania. So thats a lie 🙂

    4. Before panic breaks out:

      1) Russia cant just invade. Such operations require a huge build-up of both frontline units as well as logistics. This build-up would be spotted weeks or even months ahead. NATO/EU would have more than enough time

      2) Even if land forces need time, air forces dont. Russians would be getting bombed 24/7 by way superior air power.

      >The key challenge remains infrastructure and the speed of troop movement. According to the military, it took 10 days to move French armored vehicles to Romania, with delays at the borders and complicated routing. NATO officials have recognized that these logistical barriers could be fatal in a real conflict.

That’s also the reason an effective network of international communications is so important, possibly without “delays at the borders and complicated routing”.

Does anyone read these articles or just thrive off fear mongering

Where is Russia getting the manpower and equipment from exactly because if they had it to swoop in and crush Romania as it battled alone why can’t it do that to Ukraine.

I’m so sick of this narrative that Russia can do anything we’ve watched for 4 years as all they’ve accomplished is seizing less than a quarter of a country and getting tens of thousands of their guys killed.

And this is before NATO direct involvement which Romania would have from the air instantly as every other NATO mobilized.

And again Russia attacking Romania would me it’s open season on wrecking the bear across a border tens of thousands of kilometers up and down eastern Europe.

There are issues but “without NATO support” is nonsense

Do they think if Romania is invaded, the boarder from Finland to Poland would be quiet?

Did they forget aircraft and navies exist?

Plus the obvious, various NATO members have troops in Romania

    9. DonDerBaer on

So what’s the plan, conquer Ukraine in 3 days for a massive land-operation towards Romania or does Russia intend to let the black sea fleet prepare a naval landing operation?

The billionaire media really crave that epstein files distraction

    11. morbihann on

Apart from this being wrong, vast majority of the effort will be carried out by the air force, and that will respond immediately.

    12. LunarLongLegs on

It’s just about moving armored vehicles. Romania will immediately get all the intelligence and air support from its allies. Not much like fighting alone.

Why invade when the European parliament is so corrupt by Russian, Saudi etc money and European public opinion is affected by Russian, American, Turkey money, bots and propaganda? You must not be very clever to choose war when there are other better ways!!!

    14. Wait, now we’re seeing the possibility of Russia attacking Romania? Have Russian officials expressed such a wish or is it just fearmongering again 🫠 honestly I’m never sure.

    15. octahexxer on

Thats assuming annyone answers the call of article 5 without usa

    16. You must be pretty stupid to think they’ll attack Romania and risk any NATO harsh complaint letters when Moldova is their prime target in the area and essentially defenseless…

Russia cannot under any circumstances come out ahead from this war(or they’ll do it again once they control another US president), they should be crippled economically to the point they’ll have to start another revolution agains their kleptocracy!

    17. More-Razzmatazz-6804 on

Bot… mode desinfo as usual, paycheck from russia for sure to this retard

    18. Phantasmalicious on

I think people misunderstand what NATO is (even Bloomberg it seems). NATO will come and assist you but its not going to fight a war for you. Its a DEFENSIVE alliance. They fully expect you to be able to withstand a couple hundred little green men type of assault on your own. Once Russia starts hoarding military equipment on your border, we can talk about NATO intervention. This is never going to be, “Get in, losers, Russia attacked us with 10 drones, we need to take Moscow”.

    19. fallacyz3r0 on

Total nonsense. The 173rd Airborne, along with other NATO airborne units can be parachuting in within 24-48 hours.

    20. Ice_Tower6811 on

Invade from where is the real question. Even IF a land bridge to Russia was established through Ukrainian territory, Russian logistics would be hopelessly overstretched and suffering constant blows from both Ukrainian artillery and Romanian air forces. Romania is safe af when compared to the Baltics.

    21. outofgulag on

Meanwhile the Romanians will be preoccupied with Tchaikovsky and Russian ballet.

    22. Tough-Parsnip-1553 on

People forget that Romania has advanced laser weapons hidden in the Carpathian mountains. We also hate Russians more than Ukrainians hate them.

    23. InternationalAd5800 on

Fake russian propaganda. We’re well armed and nato is here. Try us, russian beaches

    24. PriorityMuted8024 on

Sending troops for reinforcement and providing support are two very different things.

    25. Sure-Glove-7189 on

Right now there are troops from many non-US nations deployed. Since they would stare.

    26. It is indeed possible that it will take some time for reinforcements to arrive, but this article is missing a few key points.

If Ukraine doesn’t fall, the only way for Russia to attack Romania is via a naval invasion or an aerial one. Any sort of invasion would require a lot of build up, so it won’t come as a surprise. So even if the Russian Black Sea Navy, which is a sorry state, could somehow find some ships suitable for an invasion, the Romanian Navy/Airforce would know they are coming. Add to that land defenses like the coastal missile batteries, HIMARS, etc. Any naval invasion would be suicidal. Even more so for an air invasion. They would be shot to pieces before they even fly over Romania’s territorial waters.

If Ukraine falls, hopefully that won’t be the case, then yes, Romania would have to prepare for a potential Russian land invasion. But in that case, I am willing to bet NATO will already station more troops in advance. Because again, a full on invasion would require massive preparations and there is no element of surprise. Plus Romania has a lot of shiny toys like HIMARS, Patriots, etc.

The biggest danger of a Russian invasion is for the Baltics, since they border Russia and don’t have a lot of defensive depth. And Putin might be just crazy enough to try it. But Finland, Poland and Romania are probably nuts that are too tough to crack, especially with the current state of Russia’s military.

    27. Romania won’t have to fight, sadly there are very high chances that the pro-russian AUR party wins the next elections, turning Romania into a russian asset state like Hungary. What reason could Russia have to invade if that happens?

    28. Little-Course-4394 on

While Ukraine is standing Romania is safe

I only hope people of Romania to use their brains and not vote in politicians (traitors truly) who suggest to stop support for Ukraine. Such politicians are either pro Kremlin paid traitors or morons!

Baltics is the region which is in most danger and needs reinforcements
