After multiple decades of failed highway projects and corruption scandals, Romania finally mobilise it’s resources to complete a large infrastructure network that will boost our country’s economy.

Even if the current financial situation it’s not easy, we have a war at neighbouring Ukraine, our terrain it’s full of mountains and hills, our country finally identified it’s biggest weakness for economy, and this is infrastructure.

Considering we have almost 900km of highways in construction, 480km in tendering, and another 500-1000km waiting for the tendering to start in the next 3 years, Romania it’s currently doing historical improvements at it’s infrastructure.

This map is not acurate, we have almost 700 km total of highway scattered around the country, with spots of 259 km, 80 km, or 35 km roads. They are not connected, you can’t cros the country. Why? Because of coruption 😉 we have the most expensive roads in Europe, the most expensive fuel, and a lot of taxes. The politicians are building houses and buying cars 😉

Skip the roads, BUILD train lines !!!

Kids and elderly do not drive, so just skip to the train system.

Make sure the train tracks are owned by pension funds and social security funds and have maintenance fee for every train that uses them.

Then allow private operators to use the train tracks !

We need that central part yesterday … But I’ll be still amazed if it’s completed by 2030

Nato needs a network… at least now they’re building roads that actually might lead somewhere instead of just chucking pieces of asfalt here and there for EU subsidies😄😄👍🏼

A renovation/renewal of train stations also would be nice, but roads first.

  7. Can you please hurry with the connection between Hungary and Bulgaria so the Turkish diaspora stops driving via Serbia and I can actually cross that border without wasting hours.

    Kthxbye

Sad to see that highways come before rail infrastructure. Countries seem to keep repeasting this mistake.

But I guess it’s good to see some development at least.

  9. When was the northern A3 originally due? 2015?

I remember that my second or third visit was supposed to be nearly all motorway, then the years passed and so did like 80% of the family over there

Why no one builds roads to Brasov? Is it that bad? Looks like Fagaras-Brasov-Focsani makes sense?
