      I’ve honestly noticed a massive increase in recommended videos about Russian BS in the last week or so. Not once in the past years have I been recommended Russian BS. This is a new thing coming from YouTube.

      I mean, I love YouTube. You get a lot of very good-quality videos there (and it is even better once you know how to block the ads). But you have to be very careful which videos you click, or else you are quickly flooded with the pretty terrible stuff that is out there as well…

      Like, I once watched a few videos from scientists debunking flat-earthers’ claims. Interesting. But then I had my timeline full of flat-earthers BS for weeks! Apparently hogging the keywords works in both ways! :-/

      And it is enough if you watch a video from someone who was only mildly sympathetic to Putin, and bang, you will now be flooded by Kremlin-propaganda forever.

      Best throw that account away. It is burned now! (just kidding – just watch some pro-Ukrainian channels for balance 😉

      Strangely enough, I haven’t seen any russian propaganda for years now, though there was a lot of it before and shortly after the war started

      I now can’t block Superbet ads in my YouTube, but gambling ads from other companies are still up for blocking.

      this is definitely a massive campaign, spreading across all platforms. i mean, even more than usual. just today, i told my wife that this week I saw a ton of unwanted and unrelated to me russian vatniks (we’re russians, but normal, and we fled that sick hole over 10 years ago) in my facebook feed. i got the same impression i had before the american elections, when, for no apparent reasons, my feed was filled mostly with some kind of maga bullshit from “True Texans” groups and like this.
