Fixing this problem would be an easy win, but the ruling lot has zero interest in addressing this problem.

I lived in China for 5 years, and if anything like this was happening there, it would be stamped out in seconds. It is terrifying how absolutely heroically useless western governments have become.

I used to use driving tests as an example of how little low-level corruption you found in the UK – like, if you offered your examiner some cash to pass you regardless, most would probably fail you out of spite.

That was 15 years ago, though. Apparently people are now willing to bribe someone to even get a test booked?

Am I right in that this, please correct:

Pushes additional burden on the DVLA.

Causes stress and financial costs to prospective learner drivers who feel they have no other choice, because his system blocks them out.

Creates a secondary black market on a tax payer funded system so he can wash his new jacket with Bold shiny white, with a nice floral scent.

Causes Driving Instructors to pass off their secure DVLA logins, exposing them to malpractice, further undermining the system, data protection etc.

Means that persons with limited means, have to wait longer for a system that was fair an equitable, no matter and for many a life milestone, getting their driving lessons. And adding stress to that.

And people that can’t afford get shoved down the queue, impacting social mobility.

All off the back of, and corrupting, a government (us all), system, designed for road safety, as if it’s a ticket for a pop concert.

    Should be in r/madlads

Thank god I passed when I did in 2012, reads like a dystopian nightmare now. This shouldn’t be happening in the modern world but here we are.

The fact you need an unofficial app to get a test before 6 months is ridiculous.

I thought the whole system had changed so that only students can book tests now.

This might be a rant coming off of a bad week personally, but it’s low level greed and exploitation like this that angers me more than almost anything else in society. Instead of uniting and directing our anger upwards at the wealthiest (i.e greediest) at the top, we’re scamming and conning each other at the bottom. IMO these scumbags are the lowest, most base, humans can be and should be outcast from our communities. Genuinely sick of it all.

I’m needing to learn to drive and it’s because of shit like this I am unable. Lessons cost out the arse and then when ready you pass you may not be able to sit the test 6 months down the line.

Like fuck am I paying £500 to have an early test. No chance. This needs fixed asap

Labour will never fix this as long as their voter base makes money from these illegal actions

Stuff like this that is giving Reform easy wins. Ridiculous simple fix that the government could sort out but for some reason won’t.

I’m a little out of touch as I passed my driving test in 1996, but surely the online booking system would require you to enter your provisional driving licence number?

Corruption? Check. Lack of law enforcement? Check. Fear to police certain communities? Check? Awful access to health care with open suffering on beds in hallways? Check. Are we becoming the third world?
