Assuming that to get into the venue women will have to go through a metal detector and then into the queue to have Wes Streeting rummage around in your underwear.

That’s the third announcement like this we’ve had in a week.

I wonder if the hate groups had given a bunch of places a “kick out all the trans people by [date] or we’ll sue you” ultimatum.

Also conveniently defining away opposition – if you define trans women not to be women, then their views don’t matter…

Ah, there’s that dignity and respect we were promised.

We won’t even be allowed to *hear speeches*. As if trans women are not subject to the same crap as cis women? I could speak for quite a while about the distinct differences between my experiences pre and post transition, and I’ll guarantee you any cis woman will be able to relate when I talk about getting leered at by creepy guys, catcalled, having men feel entitled to *touch me*, and no longer being able to go out after dark carelessly like I could back then.

Fucking hell, who honestly benefits from this sort of petty nastiness?

Who even is the target audience? The people who particularly like this sort of thing aren’t voting Labour anyway and never will, while the people who hate it are more likely to be Labour voters who could be driven away.

Why on earth does a political party need to have a girls-only day anyway?

This country is a fucking joke, and the rampant hatred towards such a small minority is something we’re going to be fucking ashamed of in the future, I hope to fuck.

And labour thinks the left will still vote for them? Well, I, for one, value human rights more than Labour seem to value my vote.

  8. wb0verdrive on

This is the literal government saying trans women aren’t welcome.

They could change things so this isn’t a problem. It could be done in a morning.

Instead, they’d rather suck up to a miniscule amount of bigoted assholes.

The real problem is that it won’t stop with trans people. They’re just at the top of the list right now. Next the people that hate trans people will come for lesbians, then abortion rights, then voting rights etc etc.

You don’t stop these people by acquiescing, you stop them by saying no.

This government is made up with cowards though so I guess I should get used to being banned from places.

Should we be having segregated political conferences on any level?

  10. curioustis on

Why are Labour women having their own conference

Is 2026 and this bullshit is still happening. No worse than separating by skin colour or religion.

  11. No_Onion_8612 on

So can trans men attend? Or are we just excluding trans people from politics?

  12. Brian-Kellett on

Easier way to solve it. Call it ‘Women and trans-women conference meetings’.

    Call me Solomon.

Anyone got a baby I can threaten to cut in half?

Abandoning people when they are most in need of solidarity and understanding.
