We were never united. Every country has their own interests.

Europe will never be as alone as America.

Maybe Europe will finally wake up and defend its own interests

Nope. We also don’t realise that Europe itself is drifting apart. I’m very pro-Europe and I want further integration between our economies, things like common debt, capital markets, a real single market and more.
But the EU has proven it can’t work any longer. Once the war in Ukraine is somehow resolved things will begin to deteriorate quickly. Hopefully, the countries that want a European project can come together in a post-EU world.

Everyone is alone. Is Russia alone? Is Pakistan alone? They’re all alone. The difference is how many countries can you have good relationships with and agree on something. The apparent good vibes between BRICS members would disappear the same day that Europe disappeared. All they have in common is a distaste for Europe (and the US). The only way to unite countries into something more meaningful than opposing a big country or worldview is to unite them in a abstract set of principles, rules and values that the Europe/ the EU has so far not succeeded in presenting as universal. To the contrary, Europe has been perceived as falsely adhering to said principles and lecturing everyone else about them. But even with all these difficulties, the list of countries that want to join has increased over the years. Nobody would have thought 20 years ago that Ukraine would be so pro-European. So in essence, there is progress but the speed is very slow. Just ask people from any other country where they would like to live, observe migration applications and flows of regular and irregular migration and you’ll see what people in the world truly want. They want to go to the US / EU / UK etc. Not so many dream to live in Russia. In the end, that’s what matters, not so much what countries want but what individuals want.

I am honestly perplexed.
What did the Europeans exactly expect from everyone else?
You can’t turn a eye to the subjugation and the murder of others (sometimes they helped it), then complain about others not coming to save you.
The hegemony of the USA was one of the most bloodthirsty empires on the world.
Latin America was having coups by American-funded armies that ruled with terror.
The MENA (the Middle East and North Africa) was suffering from American-backed puppet rulers and constant bombing in addition to a complete dehumanisation by the ‘free world’ and the ‘defenders of human rights’ nations in addition to having ethnic cleansing and ethnic extermination.
Why did you ever believe that they will come to your aid, when you need them? It’s honestly delusional and out of touch with reality.
Your only ally was the USA and other Western countries. Now, the USA is out. No one else wants to help you.
Morality is for all intents and purposes just a transactional matter. If you care not about the rights of others, then they won’t care about yours. Why would anyone come to the aid of those who didn’t come to theirs? Transactionalism is as old as the human race itself.

I hope Europe ever stops mortgaging its interests in favor of countries on the other side of the pond.
Your strategy is suicidal

At this point this is a weekly occurance, sadly i doubt the Eu will ever stand up for itself and try to be independent instead of just dealing with eating shit

Europe is finally FAFO. For many years europeans trashed talk about everything America including infrastructure, cars, healthcare not realizing Americans subsidised European security so those European could have better universal healthcare.
This is the true definition of being ungrateful and finding out. Btw I hate Trump for destroying America.

No it doesn’t. Or at least if it does, it doesn’t make the right conclusions.
Each time an EU or european NATO representative keeps saying „the US is our most important and still reliable ally“, you know they still don’t get it…

I mean, the European countries are generally much closer to there neighbours than USA is to Canada, Mexico and Cuba. Even Russia has better bonds with her allies than Trump’s USA.
