      So, the US will continue promoting and supporting right-wing movements in Europe, encouraging religious polarisation, and work to undermine regulations, green strategies, military independence and the rule of law.

      No real surprises there.

      The average person in China, Russia, America or Europe does not want any of this shit. We have all being manipulated and brainwashed in to thinking this is the only way.

      If that’s supposed to bring the EU closer to the political trajectory the US is on then no thank you.

      Pretty sure we tried that 80 odd years ago and it didn’t work out so well.

      Did anyone read it? It’s actually scary how much the US foreign policy position has changed in one year, and how much they hate the EU. They’re going to put a serious amount of effort over the next few years into destabilising the EU and turning us all against one another. The US wants rich European countries to deal with on an individual basis so they can take them to the cleaners and make the reliance even stronger than it already is, not through the EU.

      Alot of talk during the week of how anyone who isn’t fully pro NATO is Russian or whatever. It really is mental. Now I have my own opinions on defence, non alignment, ways of approaching that and diplomacy. But to see this weird unyielding need to bend over for NATO is crazy.

      The current NATO leader. The US will always be. Has a gun to zelenskys head, US based oligarchs are promoting violence across European states, now they want europe to fall in line with them on this too while promoting Russia. But to recognise the issues that come with the alliance means you’re Russian?

      Even if Trump loses the next election MAGA is never going away. America is only ever 4 years away from sheer insanity and even then the democrat party are very openly a progenocide party as long as it’s Israel. Plus it’s not like there has been any opposition from their traditional leadership to Trump.

      People need to realise the US are actively trying to weaken and split Europe. 

      It’s not some immigrant from India working in tech that’s making your life harder. It’s the fats cats quietly pointing at him while they rob your pockets.

      The average American worker is so beaten down. At risk of losing their job for no reason and their health care that they can’t protest or unionise very effectively. The US admin want that in Europe too. And they they want to break up the EU. Classic divide and conquer.

      Elements of the Irish media and some Irish people are too blind to see that this big push towards militarisation and the drive towards NATO is actually part of a larger US plan to beggar the EU (by forcing higher military spending). They will use it as a wedge issue to sow division between EU countries based on how much GDP they are assigning to this non-productive sector.

      It’s one thing to see the US do this, this was always inevitable with the path they’ve been on and how much they despise the union. A fractured union means they’ll have individual countries bend to their will.

      It’s another when I’m hearing more and more my friends and family want this, that they want the Irish government destroyed and the Church / people like Nigel Farage take control of our country and undo our constitution.

      Elon Musk is crying on twitter about how the EU should be disbanded because twitter has broken EU data protection laws and they’ve fined him.

      The US has never really been pro European, or pro EU except to use it as a vassal state. The EU has always been second fiddle. 

      So of the US is saying it’s moving on from the defense of Europe then Europe needs to step up, with either a EU army or another alliance between the nations that isn’t dependent on NATO.

      The thing everyone gets wrong about the Democrats is that they didn’t want this either.

      Republicans hate Europe. MAGA hate it more and lack the nous and intelligence to cloak that hatred in anything other than … mouth frothing.

      But the Democrats do not want the EU to work either. America has an imperial power needs its “allies” weak and divided so that it remains the Hegemon. If Germany or the UK or a united EU stood up, rearmed and said Fuck Off – what would the States acyually do … exactly what they’re doing to China. American wants to remain the global super power but Trump and Maga have pissed away 90 years of friendship and good will that let Europe and NATO ignore the BS they pushed on us. Trump / MAGA are not unique in this thinking – they just lack the political skill others had to cloak it.

      Obama was the one who shifted the focus to the pacific. Reagan supported Thatcher. Bush supported the Kaczyńskis in Poland who were hard right. Trumps abandonment of NATO and critiques of Europe are just a hamfisted version of a slow moving F You stance to the EU from America more generally.

      Well they are not wrong on migration, if we continue on the same rate of inward migration we will in fact have our cultural norms upended. It’s just simple mathematics.
