      I hadn’t realised the threat jellyfish pose to salmon. Apparently, they repeatedly sting the fishes eyes and gills, leaving them vulnerable to infection.

      Hopefully, the farmers are able to find an effective solution to this problem.

      hmm at this rate salmon will become as priced per 100g as caviar, crab n lobsters. Thank goodness for mackerel, sardines and herring.

      Still baffles me as an island nation why there’s not more abundance of fresh seafood, other that cod/haddock/plaice.

      The whole industry is an environmental disaster that produces so much waste and disease it is largely responsible for wiping out wild salmon in the river systems where the cages are located. Before you even get in to the fact the industry requires the decimation of the bait fish shoals the rest of the marine ecosystem relies on to feed the disease ridden salmon.
