Hard to Believe a Flag with no Words or Borders Says more About Unity than Most Speeches ever Could.

The 12 stars are a reference to the Catholic symbolic where twelve stars are put around the head of Virgin Mary
The flag was adopted by the Council of Europe and not the EU. It doesn’t have any other status in the EU other than 17 countries have declared their attachment to the flag as an EU symbol.
It symbolises not the unification of Europe but the *unity* of Europe. Not the same thing.
