      So I’m not really clear on the law here. A checkpoint for what? Doesn’t the GFA prevent any hard border crossings like a Gardaí or PSNI checkpoint?

      The only Garda checkpoints I know of are tax checks and breathalyser checkpoints. Surely this isn’t a joint checkpoint for checking motor tax because 2 different tax systems. So, joint checkpoint for drink driving checks?
