If Farage had bothered to do his day job instead of meeting the leader of the French National Front, the vote wouldn’t have passed.

Its highly likely this particular bill will get no further, the question of rejoining the Customs Union aside its a Lib Dem proposal that the vast majority of Labour MP’s abstained on. I am sure further discussion on a Customs Union will happen but this is all a bit of a nothing burger.
It’s insane that our economy is so fucked and we aren’t joining the biggest trade alliance in the world right on our border

I think this shows how close the UK is to revisiting the Brexit debate. It’s a pandoras box just waiting and Lib Dems are just trying to crack it open and soon enough it will open. And I think regardless of gets elected next, Brexit will come back to the table and will be reviewed HEAVILY. Starmer also could also use this to push for a referendum on Brexit and weather the UK made a mistake. Re-joining wouldn’t and theoretically shouldn’t cause so much issue if Labour do it with a mandate (referendum). That said regardless Labour could easily pivot.
