The Coriolis effect causes weather systems’ rotation to be in a **counterclockwise direction** in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere.
But this is not a cyclone,
First, a shallow body of water like the Mediterranean doesn’t have the needed energy to create a real cyclone.
Second, cyclones form over water and dissipate on land.
Yes, that is a weather system; yes, it is going counterclockwise, but even though the shape seems correct, it is not a cyclone as we know it.
