Sounds like discrimination. In The Netherlands this would be against the constitution.

I am against indoctrination of children into a specific sect. But the same happens in families where the parents are very christian or very catholic.

    > In 2020, a similar headscarf ban for girls under 10 was struck down by the Constitutional Court, because it specifically targeted Muslims.

    > The terms of the new law mean girls under 14 will be forbidden from wearing “traditional Muslim” head coverings such as hijabs or burkas.

The article doesn’t explain why ban proponents think this time would be different. On its face, it would seem the same logic applies here, especially with the explicit language about “traditional Muslim” coverings.

Good. There could be kids that are traumatized by the headscarves /s

Edit: Seems like this sub is brigaded by far right Russian bots at the moment

  4. Its time to implement compulsory pork schnitzel during the dinner for citizenship granting or residency permit. Did not eat, off you go. P.S. Sorry vegans

  5. Political and religious symbols should be banned from all schools and public institutions without exceptions, none mentioned none forgotten.

This is such a European / milquetoast / passive-aggressive way to handle unwanted immigrants. Instead of just deporting them and being done with it, you’re making laws to target religious folk and making it hostile to live there for the very people you invited in multitudes.

What if headscarf is worn voluntarily? Even for non-religious reasons? They are scraping us from our freedoms and privacy and you guys are only cheering it. Western Europe is becoming another authoritarian fascist place.

    >…bans headscarves in schools for under-14s

Please make it illegal for under-1000s. No religion of any kind in school.

This law is so fucking stupid i don’t even know where to start. There shouldn’t be an age requirement for religious expression and its a hijab, something non-oppressed Muslim women wear throughout the world. Why is everyone acting like the girls are always forced to wear it? Its almost as if some kids are religious too. I say this as an agnostic

Edit: a hijab is not the same as a burqa or veil that covers their whole body because of sharia law. There isn’t an Islamic invasion in Europe, deal with it.

Austria is so free, the government tells people how they’re allowed to dress!

I wish the UK would grow some balls and do this along with the burka for any age. Perhaps in 4 years time it could be the one upside to a reform win…

  12. The right-wing shift in Western Europe is so infuriating. These retards really believe there is a “sharia takeover” going on🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I laugh with all Muslim immigrants demanding burka rights that come from countries that jail and stone people for just professing a Christian belief. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Oman, Yemen, Eritrea, Nigeria, Somalia , and more. In some it is illegal to even have a bible. Even in Turkey they revoked visas from pastors. So spare us the hypocrisy and drama on both sides, the Muslim and the “equal distance” progressives that say “all religions are the same”. Not even close.

Why is this a good thing?  Shouldn’t people be allowed to wear what they want?

Has Europe degenerated into something like China?
