Well thank god there isn’t a graduate employment crisis!
Just as mainstream synthetic fuels technology is ramping up. F1 will use it next year. Genius. These “old fossils” have the money and the technology to build at scale.
Just insanity. Do the universities think that BP is going to go bust? Or do they think that not having access to Manchester Mets best students is going to make them transition to renewable energy faster? It’s going to piss off their students who have worked and paid for 4 years of education.
Do they honestly think that fossil fuel companies aren’t also going to be at the forefront of renewables?
Fucking ridiculous, and actually harmful to the progression of green technologies.
I was recruited via my uni onto a prestigious graduate scheme for a global technology company.
I spent 5 years optimising their O&G technologies to make them greener. Developments included reducing their reliance on precious metals by 75%, NOx and SOx abatement systems, and developing trackers for oil wells to detect and prevent leaks.
I then moved across to another sector within the same overall company, and developed EV batteries for a decade.
Disgusting virtue signalling from people who have contributed **nothing** to making the world a greener place.
Great move by the universities. They identified that one of the major issues that their graduates are facing is that they’re just being utterly overwhelmed by opportunities and competing job offers. This will make things a little easier for those poor overwhelmed students.
As a business owner,I’ll make sure I don’t recruit from those exact same universities, make my job easier ,thank you
