  1. Spannend, dass es in Italien doch ganz gut läuft und die trotzdem weniger pro Kopf ausgeben als Deutschland…

It’s always a weird stat to analyse, like if your infrastructures are already good you don’t need to invest much to keep them in check, on the other hand when you have nothing and decided to build something than your investment explode. Like France have better infrastructures than the UK, but the UK have to invest like 3 time as much to keep it mediocre or trying improve it because of years of underinvestment

Does Ireland feature in this study? Perhaps just no room for it on the graphic?

I don’t understand how Italy has all the best trains, the lowest prices, and the government doesn’t even invest in it.

I assume Luxembourg is only at the top because they have free public transport? I didn’t find their train network to be particularly high class.

Germany should double this – while at the same time cutting inefficiency costs at DB

Spain with one of the best infrastructures with the longest high speed rail in Europe, and lowest spending.

Spains rail network is pretty good imo, I don’t know if you can get any conclusion from this data alone

From what I’ve experienced of the rail infrastructure here in Sweden these numbers horrify me. if this is what 5th most in Europe gets us, what the hell is the rest of Europe like?!
