People are always talking down on the drivers, but it is the company that is the problem. The drivers are just humans doing what they need to do to make a living and I feel sorry for them having to put with the pressures.

Sellers should stop using Evri, full stop. I would be happy to pay more for delivery so my parcel wasn’t delivered by Evri.

I never really blamed the drivers (well except the ones who knock on the door but don’t ring the door bell), it’s pretty obviously the companies like amazon and evri not giving them the time to actually deliver stuff properly. An good example of how treating the workers poorly also has a knock on effect to the customers who then get their stuff dumped on the doorstep in the rain.

Whenever I want to buy something online, I always check the courier company used. If it’s Evri, I email the company and tell them that I was about to buy from them but I’ve now cancelled my order because Evri is completely unreliable in my area. I ask them to let me know when they change courier companies so I can resume doing business with them.

We all need to do this. There are good courier companies out there: lets give our business to them so companies like Evri have no choice but to up their game or go out of business.

Couriers very clearly should be paid if the delivery was unsuccessful, but i also see the risk of fraud but if the action is transparent – failed delivery attempts notified to all, same with successful ones with time stamps and customer ability to dispute accuracy then it should be kept to a minimum.

Does seem unreasonable not to pay them at least a contribution – it’s also in Evri interest for packages not to get stolen as they hold liability for the content.

I live in a rural village with almost no signs for street names or house numbers so it can be tricky for those who don’t know the area to find houses.

The problem is compounded by a poor/no mobile signal. Courier drivers almost always use a mobile phone app to go from delivery to delivery. In not spots, they get completely lost.

As they are paid per delivery, they are under a lot of pressure. The local FB group has somebody most weeks trying to locate a parcel which hs been “delivered” …
