21 years and six months. Happy with that, glad it’s a sentence that reflects the number of people including kids and babies that he hurt and endangered with his actions.
21 years~, but only 14 in jail.
Less than 3 months per person hit. I think it’s even less than a year per each person badly injured.
And just a 3 year driving ban on release, that’s the biggest absurdity for me. The incredible entitlement to driving that means only 3 years ban…
He’ll be allowed to drive again just 3 years after he’s released. Madness.
Just saw someone comment on the live sentencing that she thinks he has PTSD and saying the judge should go easy on him.
How is anyone watching the court feed, having all of the facts and STILL defending him with something, that it has been made clear, is not true?
Listening to the audio from his dash cam and seeing the footage leading up to it, just horrifying. What a horrible angry man. You would think absolutely no one will think he was “just scared” after watching that.
My heart breaks for all of those affected that day and what they went through, some of who, will actually have PTSD from this.
21½ years is definitely a substantial sentence, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone try to appeal it as unduly lenient.
Can’t really believe how many comments there are already complaining about the length of the sentence. It’s **14 years** at the very least, i.e. he’s not getting out until the 2040s or just before.
He committed a very serious crime and got a very serious sentence
14 yrs if he serves 2/3’s of sentence. Roughly 11 yrs if parole
Joke of a sentence. Guy who was illegal streaming got 11 yrs. He should be serving a minimum of 21 yrs.
Scum.
I was there and had just come off of that street moments prior so I’ve been following this story closely as rarely do you have such a first hand experience from such an event.
I’ll be honest, this is a deserved sentence although I am surprised it’s so severe based on how other crimes are charged. Causing death with a vehicle gets such a light sentence it seems all the time.
The fact he was driving dangerously prior to even getting into the centre shows what kind of person he is so it’s definitely deserved. Was truly horrendous that day I’m so glad no one passed away from it. But the damage mentally he will have caused is unimaginable.
Angry loser with a shit haircut, bye bye!
Thoughts with the victims today, hopefully they feel they can move on.
Just seen that when he was younger he was convicted of biting off someone’s ear in a bar fight. He’s got a string of assault convictions or the military equivalent.
And he never saw active service while in the armed forces. He was discharged early, sounds like they really didn’t want him there any more.

A bad day for the “nooooooo he’s a former soldier who got PTSD from the parade, please release him :(((” crowd.
Judging by his previous offences, he seems to me as if to have anger management issues. I think we’re a soft touch when it comes to road rage. Despite sentencing reforms, I still think we’re soft on death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence.
If you’re so pissed off that you would turn your car into a weapon, then you shouldn’t ever be allowed to drive it, unless you can entirely demonstrate you are able to control your anger in a much less destructive manner.
He knew there was a parade. He knew how many people were going to be there. That there would be road closures. Yet instead of finding somewhere safer and told his mate to come to him, for some reason decided to drive like a loon and force his way through people.
Interesting to read how “he’s a former marine so it could be PTSD” which tbh some of us, including me with an open mind, tried to find a logical reason why he’d behave that way. Instead he was basically forced out after only two weeks for conduct unbecoming. 30 years without any other known legal run in for it. But in my experience, people with anger management issues don’t just have them go away. Wouldn’t be surprising to me if there was more that went on in that time.
21 years setence for him. 16 behind bars before eligibility for parole/release on license. Biggest saving grace is there weren’t any deaths. But for those there, they’ll have mental scars and trauma that they’ll carry for the rest of their lives
I remember hearing about this first from a customer at work.
She followed thst up with “thats what happens when you let anyone in”
Wonder if shes just as outraged
I doubt this man will make it 14 years in prison before he is able to be released. I honestly think in the next few years, he will take his own life.
He clearly has some type of mental issue (though is still isnt an excuse!) He will not be able to cope with losing his wife, kids, happy outside life. How does one even live normally after release when you have done something so henious and publicly reported?
Either the above, or he will become an absolute nightmare prisoner inside, fuelled with more rage and will attack staff and other prisoners.
Can anyone explain why life driving bans don’t seem to be a thing?
You can get through life without a driving license and when you have taken a life, caused severe injury or completely reckless driving why should you retain the right?
It just doesn’t make sense in the slightest.
Justice done and I am glad the trial shone a light on what can happen when people with hair trigger tempers are not properly treated.
He’ll be an old man before when he’s released, miss a load of moments with his family and and though I feel sorry for them but he’s ruined his family’s life as well. So he’s got that weighing on him
I’m glad he said he’s guilty to all the charges but I think it was more if we fight this and lose which would probably happen he would have got more
At the very least at least it’s not like 5 years and an extended driving test.
Utter scum, glad that he will serve significant time. Also deserved a lifetime driving ban – we need to strengthen our dangerous driving penalties.
someone find those hundreds / thousands of disgusting redditors who said that he was fearing his life because of the terrifying scousers and make them watch the footage
I made the mistake of reading these comments last month.
Anybody that has seen and heard that dashcam footage can rid themselves of the notion that he “panicked because he was surrounded”
The prick was swearing and driving like a dick before he got anywhere close to the crowd seen in original footafe, swearing at ONE woman who was crossing the road with a pushchair because she wasn’t running fast enough for him.
What a sad, pathetic, bully of a man.
destroyed his life and he didnt even get to his destination, what was the point
