I call BS due to Clare’s coastline. It should extend as far as Meelick.

The landlocked counties are all a bit crappy. It’s a curiosity that the coastal zone is also where the mountains are other than the Slieve Blooms which are big hills really.

Being from Leitrim I’ve always been told Leitrim’s coastline is a mile long.

Coastlines get longer and longer as you measure them in smaller units.

My dad will be happy. He used to tell all and sundry that there was in fact salt water coming up as far as Kilkenny land on the estuary.

  6. Nah am not having Dublin having nearly triple the coastline of Wicklow

Kilkenny and Limerick are not costal so you may create another map.

For Limerick, where does the Shannon estuary end and the Atlantic begin?

Does this include island coastlines? If so, Carbery’s hundred Isles really helping Cork.

    Are islands included?

We have a lot islands here in Galway!

Thank you for this. I notice Mayo has a marginally longer coastline than Donegal and Galway. Did you count the coastline of offshore islands administered by each county or confine your measurements to the mainland?
