No, it was because he was a lumbering gorilla on the dancefloor and his personality simply put him off to Strictly’s audience. Strictly having a big LGBT fanbase was an especially big vote-killer, not to mention his target audience also being the kind to avoid watching Strictly at any cost. He would have had to have been Fred Astaire to even stand a chance of making it further into the competition.
