Thank fuck his books are awful ๐Ÿคฃ

    Roahl Dahl wannabe

  2. slackermannn on

Brace yourself for another “it’s not fair” rant by him.

  3. IrrelevantPiglet on

Took them long enough aye? Hasn’t it been generally known what a dodgy sort he is for years now?

  4. Proud_Organization64 on

I don’t understand people who still behave this way post-MeToo. Like if you don’t respect women at least care enough about your career.

  5. It’s funny how often it is the people you think doing the things you think they’d be doing.

  6. Playful_Flower5063 on

I don’t know how he’s survived this long to be fair, vile man.

  7. Katietori on

Finally. Let’s hope the rest of this all comes out- there’s been rumours swirling around him for years.

Difficult to say there’s a *safe* celebrity who I’d be less surprised about.

  9. JuanitaMerkin on

The fact that this has been an open secret for a number of years – but is only now being acted on – is disgraceful.

Shame on all the people who continued to appear on his podcast etc.

There are some people you just know are dodgy on instinct.

30 seconds of hearing him speak in any context and alarm bells should be ringing for anybody.

The biggest surprise is though that it’s women….

  11. Mimicking-hiccuping on

I’ve always thought he was a prick. Bet he’s a fiddler too.

Pretty similar to Savile in that he doesn’t even hide it. It’s in full view for everyone to see.

Been waiting for the hammer to fall on that one for years, seems inevitable

How the hell did it take this long? Did he have an injunction? Itโ€™s been rumoured for at least 4 years.

  15. The Guardian had been trying to take him down for ages but his lawyers kept blocking them. Seems The Telegraph got there first

  16. hitanthrope on

Yup, this is a guy I have always suspected writes his childrens stories while under the effects of second-hand chloroform vapours.

  17. This is shocking. The man who played a game called Hide the Sausage on stage with young boys by pulling their trousers down has been inappropriate to women as well!? Which demographic is next before the next “surprising” revelation comes out?

  18. TheMonkeyInCharge on

I know women in the industry who have been told to work in pairs around him, always avoid being in a room alone, and never, ever go to his house. Theyโ€™ve known for a long time, so if theyโ€™re dropping him now itโ€™ll be because itโ€™s all about to come out in a Sunday rag.

Edit: sorry, some of this was in the article. I didnโ€™t get through the paywall.

Hopefully this is the start of ALL the things heโ€™s done being brought to the fore.

This might be the least surprising news story of the week.

    >Former staff also told this newspaper that they were told to work in โ€œpairsโ€ when meeting Walliams and were advised not to visit his home. (ick)

    butโ€ฆ

    >Often producing two novels a year, **Walliams became extremely valuable to his publisher**. According to industry magazines, **he was responsible for 44 per cent of Harper Collinsโ€™s childrenโ€™s sales in the UK** in 2018.

    see don trump, 2005″

    >”When youโ€™re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab โ€™em by the pussy. You can do anything.โ€

  21. Everyone in publishing has known about this for years. I doubt HarperCollins will have made this move without knowing thereโ€™s more to come.

  22. Nabbylaa on

He used to have an act during the Little Britain tours where he would invite teenage boys on stage and then molest them in front of everyone.

It was so prevalent he has a whole section in his Wikipedia about it.

    >Walliams portrayed a fictional, gay, former children’s entertainer and sex offender named Des Kaye who invites volunteers from the audience or celebrity guests to play the game. Recordings of the sketch include footage where Walliams attempts to kiss participants, manhandles them, pulls their trousers and underwear down, and simulates anal sex. Volunteers are seen “grappling to keep their genitals covered.”

This is what he is comfortable doing in front of thousands of people and on camera.

It’s in no way a shock to hear he’s been credibly accused of other inappropriate behaviour.

  23. There was always an uncanny feeling I got whenever I read his books as a kid. Can’t exactly pinpoint what it was, but I’m not at all surprised that he’s a fucking weirdo

  24. Adm_Shelby2 on

Did everyone know he was a wrong-un but me?ย  Granted I don’t watch a lot of television.

  25. Metal_Octopus1888 on

So will Alton Towers be renaming the kids section to something more wholesome, like the World of Huw Edwards?

I thought Christmas was on the 25th? Has it come early this year?

Imagine this being printed about you in a national newspaper:

*’Well-placed sources told the Telegraph that following the investigation, some junior staff were kept away from the author and one employee agreed a settlement and received a payoff.*

*Former staff also told this newspaper that they were told to work in โ€œpairsโ€ when meeting Walliams and were advised not to visit his home.’*

I never liked Walliams books when I used to read them to my daughter but I thought it was just me. They were creepy af
