Seems a major problem still in this country. I know we’ve improved but we need to stop anything like this. I’d a very similar experience to the kids here and it increases the difficulty setting in life hugely. The comment from the judge ‘..a most tragic feature of the case that the children had no safe place in their home and nobody to protect them’ rings very true. 99% of the time parents get away with and the kids’ lives are much much harder than they need to be. Heading into Christmas having to interact with these people is pretty hard.
Parental abuse survivor here. I feel for all of us. Year of therapy – 60 years old still feeling it.
