    Not sure about assholes.

The crowd in Ranelagh blocking the Metro don’t look great.

Anyone in a wealthy or middle class area trying to block housing or public transport infrastructure for no valid reason doesn’t look great.

You can be rich and not an asshole.
You can be an asshole and not rich.

Reality is there are no areas in Ireland that compare to some of the places in that other thread. Or why the people there are so wealthy.

More than likely we will end up with people here who just will project their chip against other Irish people.

There was a certain residents association in Dublin who I used to follow on Facebook because my friend who lived there said Id get a good laugh out of it, and oh boy did it not disappoint.

“There’s a run down looking van that’s been parked outside a house for 20 minutes now with two odd looking men sitting in it. Be vigilant” – turns out it was a plumbing crew that got called out to fix someone’s burst pipe

“Sketchy group of men in tracksuits hanging around at the corner house. I think they are looking to break in” – turned out to be four 13-15 year old kids from the estate who met up to watch a livestream of some event on their phones together

“Can you please keep your front gardens tidy, we are a nice estate and wish to keep it that way” – apparently this was directed at someone who had a paddling pool out front in the summer

Endless hilarious content, from people trying to stop kids playing football on a green to calling the gardai on a baby shower during the day that was too noisy

My friend will be the first to say the estate is full of rich assholes 🤣

This time of year it’s probably Rathkeale based on the influx of high value assets and general assholery. Maybe the CAB would be the best people to ask?

  6. Such an Irish thing, the Begrudgery towards anyone with money is pathetic. My experience is there are a lot more assholes in the working class than the wealthy.

Very rich/old money tend to be respectful and not showy even if their house is a massive D4 redbrick. Its the clowns in new Executive Homes on the edge of Malahide and outside Dalkey who are big snobs.

From dealing with the public through work everyday, rich people are actually very sound and interesting people. Same with the working class. It’s always the middle class who are the rudest and most entitled.

You call assholes just because they are rich and can afford better than you?

In my experience people from Rathfarnhan/Dundrum/Chutchtown who grew up working class now boast constantly about “being from south Dublin” as if it’s Beverly Hills, looking down on northsiders constantly in a desperate need to feel and act above everyone else

Surprised no one has said the K Club, and its surrounding area.

Foxrock, Ballsbridge, Dalkey (specifically around sorrento road) and Vico road in Killiney. There are tons of lovely rich people in my experience though, Irish people just love to begrudge anybody with money. Just as many wankers from less well off areas.
