Even though our dogs are taken care of well by a Village Vets (it wasn’t originally part of the chain when we first started going there), I have always heard rumours that they do abuse the planning system in an attempt to drive off any potential competition…

So this is clearly trying to limit competition right ?

This is the same reason why there are so few crematoriums. The existing ones constantly object to planning for more leaving a lot of counties without.

“Low bar to object
Anyone can provide an observation, either objecting or supporting, to a planning application and there are no disqualifiers in terms of how close a person must live to a proposed development.”
I feel like people fail to understand that they can also garner support via this process.

I saw a guy posting alluding to this on Twitter and these days with the algorithms dialed to 90 I’m so used to vague posts being anti-semitic or anti-migrant conspiracy theories that I thought that was what he was suggesting at the time.
But this definitely seems to be a thing and if it all shakes out is clearly an abusive practice. I’d wonder if there’s any recourse though, can someone be banned from submitting objections etc? I doubt it.
