  1. In addition to recently reported deal with Turkye, there’s also more with Sweden – this time for EW capabilities from Saab.

Recent massive defense spree in Poland:

    Swedish A-26 for submarine tender

    Swedish EW suits

General treaty with Sweden on military-industrial cooperation

    Turkish EW suits

General treaty with Turkye on military-industrial cooperation

    Domestic Borsuk Amphibious IFV

Probably deal on drone, counter-drone and missile tech with Ukraine, probably all remaining Polish MiG-29 to be transferred to Ukraine

Quite few domestic deals regarding ammunition production

Some smaller domestic deals regarding drone and counter-drone systems

Couple small drone & anti-drone deals from abroad

ROSOMAK (AMV Patria) licensing contract extended again

Probable used Stryker acquisition to speed up withdrawing BMP-1 from active use

Some surface vessels: anti-mine ships, Miecznik Frigates (Arrowhead), modernizations of older vessels

Many deals and progress regarding service, maintenance and domestic modernization capability of acquired: K2, Abrams, K9 and other systems from USA and South Korea.

Domestic anti-tank missile Moskit research getting further funding, to have cheaper, independent, Spike alternative

    Krab development: autoloader, longer barrel

Piorun development: longer reach, more sensitive detection&tracking

USA approving Phantom Strike radar export for integration for Poland by South Korea, which was stalling FA-50PL variant development. Recently Polish FA-50 was reported as having highest availability of all combat planes ever used by Polish Air Force. APKWS will be procured to enable their usage as drone hunters.

Domestic heavy IFV under rapid development – much bigger and heavier than either Borsuk or i.e. CV90: think 40t~ class

First Patriot battery finally fully integrated and going online (still with older radar though – LTAMDS is to be delivered probably 2026/2027) – more will follow in next years.

First F-35 to be delivered to Poland next year (8 units already manufactured and are at various stages of factory testing or already used for training Polish Air Force pilots and maintenance crews in the US)

Ongoing deliveries of tank and artillery contracts from USA and South Korea – to put it visually:

    K9: https://x.com/marek_reszka/status/1997915213824204938/photo/1 – 213 units

    K2: https://x.com/marek_reszka/status/1997614867638075525/photo/1 – 181 units

    K2 plans: https://x.com/marek_reszka/status/1998414593602031686/photo/1 116 + 61 + 3 units, for already signed contract

IFV Borsuk: https://x.com/marek_reszka/status/1997187760357335080/photo/1 – 15 units delivered, then slow ramping up of production

    without picture 😉

M1A2 Abrams SEPv3: 117 units – whole order is for 250 units, so we’re almost halfway through

    M1A1 Abrams FEP: 116 units

Multiple stuff happening on rocket artillery front but i can’t find latest news, though:

Over 150 units of HOMAR-K (Chunmoo) were delivered by last month (not sure how many were already integrated on the chassis and delivered to army) – which makes us halfway there, as 290 were ordered.

Deal signed for domestic production of CGR-080 (GMLRS class) missiles for HOMAR-K

Not much news on HIMARS (HOMAR-A), they’re there – whatever was delivered, but US probably blew the framework contract, the one for 500 units, (was it intentional, or not, issues on political side, financial, or industrial – who knows), as HOMAR-K seems to be dominating. Doesn’t look like US was willing to offer domestic integration and production capability of both launchers and missiles, which South Korea did.

There are multiple other research programs ongoing, like i.e.: ERA, hard-kill APS, counter drone microwave emiter, ongoing MSBS Grot enrollment, development of new variants and fixing design issues reported by combat users in Ukraine

I’m sure i’ve missed a lot, as there’s so much going on in that regard, but this post is already too long and chaotic as it is!

  2. Daneofthehill on

Still too much money going to the US, who designated Europe and liberal democracies as something they want to change and if necessary undermine.

  3. You can add Ratel to list, though for now, it is being funded internally by HSW. Hopefully it will get more traction soon.

Poland continues to amaze me. This country is really rising to the front of the Union.
