The only cycling I’ll do unless it’s in an event with closed roads and marshals is on zwift, over the years it’s got worse and worse out there. People swerve at you, throw things at you, the abuse is getting worse

Because most people don’t actually have problems with *ebikes*. What they have a problem with is the unlicensed, uninsured illegal electrical mopeds that are everywhere, often ridden dangerously on pavements and through pedestrianised areas, that the police do nothing about.
And until they do, anyone on an ebike (or even a normal bike in some cases) are going to be tarred with the same brush.

Hopefully the energy crisis gets worse and worse over the next few decades, to the point that we’re basically forced to abandon automotive culture. That’s the about the only thing that’ll get this nation of lazy oafs to act more responsibly.
