Awesome, France, the R5 will be a future electric classic.

Nearly a third of new cars are EVs now, and the strong uptake of the Renault 5 proves demand isn’t just for premium models anymore.

The Renault 5 is a masterpiece, I’m glad to see it being successful. A small, affordable EV is exactly what we needed.

The R5 is indeed a fantastic EV, and its not one of the overpriced, oversized, overbuilt EVs that manufacturers have flooded the market with until recently. It is great to see that it is also a sales success.

Some good news, hopefully European car companies can profit off it.

The real problem is that statistics really focus on new cars which are a minority in the total car sales in any European Country.
If we take a look at the SH market it’s more like 40% Diesel 40% gasoline 10% Hybrid.
We should not forget that only a thin of the population actually affords a new car, and even a small fraction wants to pay ‘premium’ for making the first mile.
