It’s true i’ve cut down on meat consumption a lot there’s even days that i don’t eat any meat at all due to the cost of it nowdays.

Steak becomes expensive so you eat mince. Mince becomes expensive so you eat chicken. Chicken becomes expensive so you eat legumes.

This isn’t a ‘choice’ but an economic reality.

i really hope mercosur will bring some cheap meat so i can eat it again

That’s because it’s becoming more expensive relative to take home pay. There’s nothing good about this. Meat was once a luxury for the masses.

Reducing the standard of living is not to be championed.

    >Health emerges as the most significant factor influencing the reduction of animal-based food consumption in specific European countries, with 47% of respondents identifying it as the primary reason for their dietary shift.

Everyone is making the shift for their health. Bad economy must be fake news.

It’s because of the cost, not because of choice.

    It’s an important nuance here.

I have no issue eating fish instead, but there is just not enough and prices are crazy.

I refuse to pay a premium for average quality meat, it’s not worth it. Actually, I have cut down on a lot of unnecessary crap lately, it’s all a distraction.

Cattle are resource intensive, merely consuming less meat is probably good for the environ as well as economy. Then again one could reason that people are resource intensive

Unpopular take: meat is still too cheap. Coming from someone who still eats meat ( but less and less and i eventually wanna stop)

    >The primary motivation for reducing meat consumption is for health reasons (47%), especially in Romania and Italy, followed by environmental concerns (29%), mostly in Denmark and the Netherlands, and animal welfare (26%), mostly in Germany and the Netherlands, the survey found.

I don’t believe this. 1 in 3 or 4 people reducing meat because of environmental concerns or animal welfare ?

    >The survey was carried out by ProVeg

    Lol OK

    >A total of 46% of Europeans have adopted non-meat-based dietary lifestyles for over 2 years (flexitarians, vegans, vegetarians, pescatarian).

Absolute BS. Fake news should be illegal.
